Club Dive - Night Dive Breakwater 7-20-24

Derek Suring | Published on 7/23/2024

We had ten divers on our first dive starting around 7pm at Breakwater. Overcast skies and a setting sun set the fish into their crevices for a night rest. Visibility was moderate, 15' at the best. Water temperature was balmy, readings of 58 to 61 degrees, though many of us found very significant thermoclines starting around 35'.

Lingcod, Cabezon, Rockfish and a plethora of freshly laid egg ribbons were evident. We scoured for a sighting of an Octopus but they proved elusive.

A second group of three divers went back in for another 9:30pm dive. Report forthcoming.
