Dive Reports

September club dive report from Carmel River Beach

Jim Driggers, POC, reports on a club dive attended by club members Mark Judson, David Sheh, Christina Clemens. Jim reports there is still good kelp with the rock formations being a highlight of the dive. All agreed they would dive there again. Details in the news article

Diving the Northern Red Sea

Oliver Edwards dove on the Aggressor Red Sea 2 in the Northern Red sea last August. Sites featured extensive stony coral, some soft coral and some wreaks. The water was quite warm at 86 degrees (oliver's last dive was with a speedo only) - visibility varied from a somehwat milky 35' to clear over 60'. Food and accommodations were good.

Used paddle boards available
Bruce Lanham writes: I have a Mulder and a Ryan type fiberglass paddle board available for free. Do any of your members have any interest in them? They're located in Pleasant Hill. It’s a 1st come offer. Contact Bruce at bruce.lanham@icloud.com.
Per Bruce: Photos are of a Mulder, we’ve been using it a lot. They’re 15’, it’s a lay down board as is the Ryan type board (19’). You paddle with your hands and fins(frog kick). Back in the days I’ve done as much as 10 miles in a day, Gualala River down to Sea Ranch & got a 10” abalone. There’s room inside for a 70 cubic inch tank.

They need to be washed and waxed and add a rope that runs from end to end. The Ryan is pretty nearly ready to go, the Mulder needs more work (you’ll need a pop-riveter).
