Club Meeting August 6th

In 2024, Arnie and a few select Hawaii and former Hawaii friends had a reunion of sorts on the Aggressor Cayman IV diving liveaboard for a week of scuba diving. During that week, we dove in Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. During the August club meeting, Arnie will present slides from that trip.

Hidden Beach 7-11-26
Hi Tuters today’s dive at a Hidden Beach was really great today. Sofia and David showed up ready to dive and conditions didn’t disappoint today.

First dive was at Hidden Beach swam out on the surface to the middle of the kelp bed. Water temp was 55deg and vis was about 15-20’ a little surgy on bottom but not that bad and no waves on surface. We turned right and I took them to the mitridium field turned around and they were gone lost to the ocean but there training to over and after a few minutes we met up on the surface about 25 yds behind me we exited the water at west end of San Carlos Beach.
We decided on a second dive to the Middle Grounds of San Carlos. Conditions worsened with vis down to 10’ and temps dropped to 54 deg. Dove Middle ground and on way back Sofia practiced deploying her DSMB. It just shows that regular deployment is really key to keep up and to deploy correctly.

Monterey was sunny and 65 a really nice time by all. Camping at Veterans Memorial Park was also great and Sofia came down last night and parked in my camp site.
