Hello Aqua Tutus,
Thanks to Dennis, Arnie, and Oliver for serving as panelists on this month's Experience to Dive By panel. They shared their perspectives and tips for diving and answered questions about diving. Also thanks to returning board members-at-large, Alan Stanek and Derek Suring, and new board member-at-large, Lindsay Martin. We all look forward to the perspectives you'll bring to the board and the dive(s) you'll plan for the upcoming year.
I'm looking forward to Oliver Edward's presentation in July about Bonaire. The Caribbean island of Bonaire is consistent ranked as one of the best shore diving destinations in the world. As a three-time visitor to the island myself, I would put it first or second. I have to admit to a certain bias toward California's Monterey Bay as a strong contender for first place. I'm hoping Oliver's presentation will include some video I shot in January 2022 of an octopus hunting at night near Buddy Dive Resort on Bonaire. It's definitely one of the highlights of my diving.
As I mentioned in the June General Meeting, we as a club need to decide what kind of holiday celebration we'll have in December. The club's annual holiday party has taken several forms over the years. It's ranged from a simple dinner to a multi-hour extravaganza with site decorations, dancing, raffle prizes, pinatas, gift exchanges, and visits by Santa Clause.
