Club Dive report South Monastary 2-25-2024

Original Date: February 18th, 2024

Rescheduled Date: February 25th, 2024

Despite the rescheduling, we had a good turnout with seven divers.

The day started with a picturesque Sunday morning, marked by clear skies and temperatures in the low 50s and progressing to pleasant mid-60s throughout the day.

The first dive was an easy entry with gentle waves measuring about one foot and a subtle swell of one to two feet. Visibility was exceptional, offering us a crystal-clear view. Visibility started at 20 feet, and expanded to 30 feet as we descended to a depth of 50 ft.

As we made our second descent, we observed a slight reduction in visibility that persisted through the dive. Towards the end of the dive, the waves and swell gained momentum, adding an element of excitement to our beach exit. Despite the changing conditions, the marine life made a good show. From sea bass to rock cod, perch, and countless spineless creatures as well as the the star of the show - a magnificent ling cod measuring at least 48 inches – Monastery South did not disappoint.
